Bellami Extensions 101

Extensions are everyone’s best friend! In this post, we’re going to talk about different types of extensions offered at FE. Each method serves as a means to provide length, density, or both. Each method has different levels of customization and when you purchase hair through FE, it will be color matched to your hair goals!

WEFTS

Wefts are our most popular seller, with a variety of different types and colors. There are four types of wefts that FE offers:

💫 Volume Wefts: Volume Weft hair extensions are ideal for coarse or thicker hair but can also be customized for finer hair textures. No tape, glue or heat needed for this volume-enhancing look. Volume Sew-in Wefts are applied using a looping tool, beads, a micro-beaded threader, a spool of nylon-based thread and a curved sewing needle. Life Span: 8-12 months with correct maintenance.

💫 Hand Tied Wefts: Achieve seamless length and volume with Hand-Tied Wefts. Ideal for finer density hair these lightweight veils are hand-knotted with fine thread and designed to lay close to the scalp for maximum comfort and wearability. Stack wefts for volume, blend different shades to add dimension or even create a custom color. Life Span: 6-8 months with correct maintenance.

💫 Flex Wefts: Same volume, no sacrifices with the Flex Weft. This NEW weft innovation is the same weight as a Volume Weft but 30% thinner for a more discreet and comfortable wear. Its slim design lays closer to the scalp for a seamless transition with natural hair. This method achieves a flawless look while feeling more lightweight and giving more movement to the hair, all while maintaining the coveted volume of the original Volume Weft. Life Span 6-12 months with correct maintenance.

💫 Infinity Wefts: The Infinity Weft is the industry's longest, densest, most versatile method. It has a 33% slimmer design with a 20% increase in density compared to the Hand-Tied Weft. With the fastest drying time of any method and a water-resistant sealant, this highly customizable weft is perfect for all hair types. Life Span: 6-12 months with correct maintenance.

Tape Ins

Tape ins are another one of our top selling methods. They provide length and density without adding weight to the hair.

💫 The extension is applied to the hair after the backing has been removed from one sided polyurethane tape. The extension and the attached hair are pulled upwards, and another weft is applied to the other side of the tape to “sandwich” the hair. Clients with extremely thin hair, especially around the temples and side of the head, may require a single panel applied with single-sided tape.

I-Tips

I Tips are great for finer areas of the head when used in combination with other methods!

💫 I-Tip extensions are installed with a strand-by-strand application, without using heat or glue, this is an especially great application for those with thinning hair around their hairline.

Application is achieved by threading each I-tip and a strand of the natural hair into the looping tool, through a bead and then secured by clamping the bead closed at the root of the hair. Life Span 6-12 months with correct maintenance.

Keratin Bonded

Keratin Bonded extensions, similar to I-tips are great for finer density areas of the head. They are also great for guests who require a low maintenance look as the hair does not need to be maintained in the salon until the end of it’s life span.

💫 Keratin Tip (K-Tip) extensions are installed using a heating element which safely melts the Keratin Tips onto the natural hair. This Keratin Tip is partially made of the same naturally occurring protein found in hair. These extensions are ideal for corrective work and extremely fine density hair.

A silicone additive on the K-tip helps to create a protective coating for the natural hair strands. The K-tips are bonded close to the roots of the hair, with enough space to allow free movement of the natural root which maintains a natural layered texture and feel to the hair. Life Span: 3-8 months.
